4 Signs it's Time to Replace your Boiler
Is it time to replace your new boiler? Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple indicators to look for when deciding whether it’s time to buy a new boiler.
Age
If your condensing boiler gets routine maintenance, you can expect it to operate about 15 years or longer. Cast iron boilers can last a lot longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is close to 15 years or your cast iron boiler is coming up on 50 years, it may be time to consider an upgrade.
Bills
If your heating bills are rising or you’re having to service your boiler more often, it could be because it’s time to buy a new, more efficient boiler.
Discoloration
If you notice yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a signal that the fuel is not burning adequately and could be creating carbon monoxide. If you see these issues or have any concerns surrounding carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Service Experts or your gas company straightaway.
Comfort
If some of the areas in your home are too cool or too warm and you can’t seem to control them appropriately or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is no longer effective and you may need to look into upgrade alternatives.
