We are making our way through the last few weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during cold nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than turning in at night and realizing your furnace won’t start up. If this happens to you, here are a couple things you can check yourself before your call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters every 30 days. If you fail to do so, they can become clogged, obstructing air flow and resulting in a furnace malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, make sure the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but verify the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating equipment will still not turn on, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 407-329-7661 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
