Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is proud to send NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes throughout North America every day. While this distinction of being Nate-Certified definitely sounds reaffirming, what does it really mean?
NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was developed by and has been acknowledged by the entire HVACR industry for nearly 20 years. However, not all technicians in the field are necessarily NATE-Certified. The certification is discretionary and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment without the certification.
It’s important to Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are putting the most experienced technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these benchmarks, the NATE-Certification exams verify real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that measure the technician’s understanding of these standards.
Due to the fact that Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses mainly on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians earn their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may gain certification in one or more of these areas:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
- Gas Heating
- Oil Heating
- Heat Pumps
- Hydronic Gas (service only)
- Hydronics Oil (service only)
- Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
- Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst
