Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was thrilled to donate 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.

“Last year, I had the chance to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are an essential part of this community.”

Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they are given to make nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume aid along with money-management and job classes to help families get back on their feet.

Since each family receives around 50 pounds of food to last them a month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.

“Each member of the team was so excited that we had this food drive for them, and they even took us around their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
